Sharon was driven to start this incredible charity by meeting people who didn’t have support. Feeling it is crucial to start with what is wrong and make it right, she has certainly had an outstandingly positive impact on numerous lives.

Laura

Started volunteering while pregnant with her son in 2017, in 2018 Laura was offered a role working 5 hours a week. In those years her role has progressed beyond recognition. It is varied, hard work but so rewarding. Laura loves working for Neuro Dropin as she sees the difference it makes to all those the charity supports.

Adele

After starting as accounts administrator in the office at White Cross Adele’s role within this amazing charity has changed a few times. She’s been here through 2 “home” moves and was also part of the team when first welcoming members back after covid (few tears then). The hard work means it’s never out of her thoughts, but seeing the positive impact on so many people's lives makes it the best job anyone could wish for!

Ann

Began working with the charity during lockdown due to being in a ‘bubble’ with her husband John. She helped him with the tasks he was already involved with in supporting the charity and additionally throughout lockdown the duo drove and delivered well-being parcels together to the members. Since covid Ann has joined our wonderful team helping weekly.

After a Christmas lunch at the charity with a friend who had MS, John wanted to volunteer and help others at Neuro DropIn while his own neurological condition allows him, in talking to the members as he brightens their day!

Dorothy

Having met Sharon through caring for Sharon’s mum, Dorothy started at Neuro DropIn when meetings were first held in supermarket cafes! The development of the charity to where it is today reflects one of the reasons Dorothy volunteers. As she loves to see the improvements in the members and watch them flourish in a setting where people can be who they want and where their disability doesn’t dominate.

Like friend Dorothy, Edell attended the supermarket sessions 10 years ago having met Sharon through MS meetings. Seeing people gather at Neuro DropIn today is of great importance to her in volunteering by creating an environment where the member is safe. So family and friends can also get support without worrying about their loved one.

Lynne

After beginning helping Sharon with her wonderful art classes, she started volunteering weekly in our fabulous pop-up cafe. Finding interacting with the members lifts her spirits as the charity creates a feeling of positivity for all no matter what people are going through.
